February 2024 Company Update

It's been an interesting six months for Bases by Bill and Bill, Weston and Christian. After the 2023 Nats in San Marcos, Bill determined that the workload was impacting his health in a manner that was headed for a bad outcome. As a consequence, we stopped offering a range of our products and in September cleared out all the remaining inventory. We are relieved to report that Bill has recently gotten a clean "bill" of health and is doing fine. We need to keep it that way.

There was work underway in parallel to explore new technologies and new products and much of that came to fruition in January. If you've followed our Facebook page, you have seen us share some of these new products: full-colored, highly detailed display bases as well as a new line Simple|BASE with the inaugural US Navy Wooden Carrier Display bases. Much more to come on these as we move into March 2024.

We've also made adjustments to our popular Club awards. As you may know, Bases by Bill was selected to produce the 2024 IPMS Nationals major awards and we can't wait to show you those - but it will need to be closer to the show. We also have continued offering laser-engraved, Cherry wood major awards for clubs, but we've decided to stop offering the wood equivalents for 1st, 2nd and 3rd. However, that doesn't mean we don't have a solution. We will be revealing new award styles that provide full-color opportunities and an affordable price for 1st, 2nd, and 3rd as well as Gold, Silver and Bronze styles.

We continue to offer a limited line of display cases. These are primarily our very popular ship display cases. You may still contact us about custom cases, but please know that we're being very selective with the display case work we are doing. Don't take it personally if we decline to build a case for you. (See the first para above for the reason why).

With new technologies and new products, we're hoping to continue to move the company forward into the future. It all depends on you; if we make products you enjoy and want to buy, we will all be good. Please be sure to lets us know how we are doing in the months ahead.
